Today I spent the whole afternoon building 2 racks for holding some of my old stuffs. The parts were shipped in this afternoon. I opened the package:

• pipes for standing up
• platforms for holding stuffs
• small connection parts to glue pipes and platforms together
• tools for tightening the screws
• a pair of gloves to secure my working hands

This is a typical engineering design: standard parts to make versatile final products. From the perspective of software, things should be similar:

• standard software blocks for various functions
• glue parts to connect the blocks according to requirement
• standard tools to do the connection
• safety considerations as bonus parts
